U18 and U20 Championship all set for Prague

Rugby Europe are delighted to confirm that the U18’s and U20’s European Championships will be held once again at Marketa Stadium, Prague in collaboration with the Czech Rugby Union.

This will be the second year that the events have been held in Prague with Netherlands and Georgia winning last season at U18 and U20, respectively.

The action kicks off on the 16th of November with the U18 competition quarter-finals before the U20 competition starts a day later on the 17th. Each team will face off in three match days with quarter, semi and finals with the ranking matches determining each team’s final standings.

Saturday 23 November promises to be a festival of rugby with five games taking place, where in the evening the men’s national team will also play at Marketa in their Rugby Europe Trophy match against Poland.

Czechia Rugby’s CEO, Pavel Myšák, added, “We’re delighted to be hosting this year’s U18s and U20s competition in Prague after discussions on the back of a successful tournament last year, where we received positive feedback from Rugby Europe and the unions on the organization of the event.

“On the back of that, we’ve agreed to hold these tournaments until 2027. We’ve got a dedicated team ready to welcome approximately 600 participants to the city over the 10 days, as well encouraging fans to cheer on the highest quality of youth rugby in Europe.”

Octavian Morariu, President Rugby Europe said, “These U18 and U20 Championships are a great opportunity for young players to start their international careers. The competition is always a popular event with fans across Europe to discover the next star in the making.
