Two new matches in the Rugby Europe Championship fixtures for 2021 have been confirmed today.
The Netherlands, who secured a famous win over Belgium in the 2020 Rugby Europe play-off, will play both Spain and Portugal on home turf during July.
Amsterdam will be the setting for both fixtures with 3pm CET kick offs and will create further interest in the game in the Netherlands as they took their place at Rugby Europe’s top table.
The Dutch team will face one of the toughest tests imaginable to start their campaign, against reigning champions, Georgia. The fixture in Telavi has had its kick-off time adjusted to 5pm local time (3pm CET).
With the competition doubling up as a Rugby World Cup Qualifier, Portugal, who are currently in third position in the table, will need no motivation to travel to the Netherlands. Spain meanwhile will be hunting down their maiden win in this year’s competition.
