Rugby Europe has confirmed the fixtures of Rugby Europe Championship 2025, which will serve as the European Qualifier for World Rugby Nations Championship 2026 and Rugby World Cup 2027.
Following the venue confirmation and finalization of the various kick off times with the unions the final calendar has been announced.
After the successful 2024 edition, which saw Georgia crowned at the Stade Jean Bouin during the finals day in Paris, defeating Portugal 36-10, REC 2025 will continue with the same format of competition.The promotion / relegation system will run across two years, using the combined results of REC 2025 and 2026.
Newly promoted Switzerland will face the firepower of the champions, Georgia, in their opening game of the competition, there will also be a re-run of the memorable fixture last year where Belgium defeated Portugal.
Germany will travel to Bucharest to take on Romania while the Netherlands head to Spain in search of going a few points better than their last encounter with Los Leones, where they lost narrowly 18-20 in Amsterdam.
The top four ranked teams at the end of the competition will be directly qualified for Nations Championship and Rugby World Cup 2027 while the fifth place will qualify to the final World Rugby Qualification tournament to be held in November 2025.
The eight nations have been split into two pools based on the results of the previous two seasons.
- Pool A: #1 Georgia, #4 Spain, #5 Netherlands and #8 Switzerland
- Pool B: #2 Portugal , #3 Romania, #6 Germany and #7 Belgium

The semi-finals will take place on 1-2 March on the soil of the first and third of each pool.
For the Final Round (Final matches for 1st place, 3rd place, 5th place and 7th place) the best ranked team of the pool phase involved in each of the “Final” will have the right to host its Final Match on the week end of March 15-16, 2025.
