Rugby Europe Super Cup Returns for 2024

The Rugby Europe Super Cup takes place in 2024 with seven teams from across Europe playing in two pools of competition throughout September and October.

Pool A will see reigning champions, Black Lion, look to continue their imperious form as they seek a fourth-straight edition win. They will again be joined by the Spanish outfit, Castilla y Leon Iberians and the Portuguese Lusitanos.

The competition will take place this season without the two-time runners up, the Tel Aviv Heat, due to various logistical elements.

Pool B keeps the same line ups as the 2023 competition, with the Romanian Wolves looking to continue their form that saw them top the group last season but can expect some tough competition from Delta from the Netherlands, Belgium Brussels Devils and the Bohemian Warriors from Czechia.

The main change from last season’s format in Pool A is that there will now be no semi-finals with the competition concluding after the group matches home and away.

Pool B will play four rounds of competition with the four teams taking part in a final round of fixtures, scheduled for the weekend of October 19-20.

Rugby Europe President, Octavian Morariu, said, “There is no doubt we’ve all seen the important contribution that this competition has made to the competing teams in previous seasons on the pitch.

“We are all looking forward to witnessing another exciting competition, in collaboration with World Rugby, to ensure that the standard across Europe continues to make strides forward ahead of a Rugby World Cup qualifying year in 2025.”
