For the next couple of weeks, Rugby Europe will be interviewing some of the rising stars of the teams competing in the Men’s Rugby Europe Championship U18 and U2, to figure out their goals, playing style and much more.
Aleksander Czerniak, one of Poland’s brightest rising stars, shared his views and goals for the 2024 U20 Rugby Europe Championship.
Hello, Aleksander! What can you tell us about your team’s goals for the 2024 Men’s Rugby Europe Championship U20?
The goal of our team is to perform at our best in the tournament, stay in the Championship and show that we are the future of Polish rugby.
How would you break down your team to the fans? How is your style of play? And what can we expect from you?
To the fans we want to present ourselves at our best, show solid and creative rugby. Our style of play is modern, dynamic, with full use of the pitch. Our strengths are defense and team-spirit. We have a truly fantastic atmosphere in the group.
How has rugby been important for you?
Rugby fills my whole life, teaches me teamwork and self-control. I try to devote as much time as possible to this sport, I improve my skills every day and bind my future to this sport.
Do you think it is important for your country to play in this competition? Can you explain why.
I believe that participation in this competition is very important for our country, because we can proudly represent Poland at one of the highest levels in Europe.
What message would you like to share with your team’s fans?
We are a young team, there are many talented guys, we play modern rugby, and I believe that in the future we will be ready to win the highest trophies in this sport. My personal dream is to play at the World Cup!
Alongside Aleksander there are more Polish players to follow, and here are our two suggestions!
Dorian Rossochacki (U20 / loose forward): one of those flankers that simply doesn’t know when and how to give up, always looking for an opportunity to make an impact. Be it a well-placed tackle, a successful jackal attempt or lineout steal, Dorian Rossochacki is a jack of all trades, and one that can help Poland get closer to complete an upset.
Filip Soszka (U20 / scrum half): who doesn’t like an intense, dynamic and a fiery scrum-half? Well, for those looking for one, Filip Soszka is the one to go for as the Polish nº9 has a special set of skills that can inspire his team to take charge of the ball possession. Be on the lookout for his ruck exits...
